Hot Wheels Multipacks were first introduced in 1970 and have appeared in a wide variety of formats over the decades. Since 1975, Mattel has released new Multipacks every year, making them a long-running staple for both kids and collectors.

The back of each package often highlights additional Multipack assortments and related releases. Over the years, Mattel has frequently updated vehicle colors and designs within these packs. In some cases, a casting would first appear exclusively in a Multipack, or a specific color variation could only be found in these sets—making certain vehicles particularly desirable among collectors.

Today, Mattel continues to produce many styles of Multipacks, offering unique combinations, exclusive colors, and special selections not available in single-card releases.

"ZAMAC" is an acronym for the Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper alloy that Hot Wheels and other die-cast toy cars are made from (cast)
