The GMC Syclone is a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma pickup truck. Produced in 1991 by GMC along with Production Automotive Services (PAS) - the same company credited with building the famed 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am, the Syclone spawned the similarly powered 1992-1993 GMC Typhoon SUV based on the Jimmy platform
The high performance turbocharged engine with all-wheel drive made it the fastest high performance pickup ever made at the time. This sent a shock wave in the car community as its acceleration was comparable to most sports cars at the time
